Website Inspirations

For the past few months, I've been collecting images of websites that I really liked the design of to use as inspiration for my own. I forgot to add them before I showed my finished site, but here they are now!

I really liked the blog feel of this one and how the right side of the site stayed present no matter what page you were on, giving the user constant information about the project.

The cardboard effect here worked really nicely and was still professional.

I liked the clean, minimalist feel of this one and the multiple points of navigation.

I thought this site had the perfect mix of hand-made textures and ease of use.

Loved the hand-drawn typeface that acted as the header.

The color scheme on this one was really strong and the light feel of site is very fresh.

Great textures here with a distinct hand-drawn logo and navigation.

I liked the laid-back nature of this and the personal feel, that you really get to know him just by glancing at the homepage.

I liked the top navigation here and the simple three column layout.

I really like the header image on this one and the bulletin board feel of the whole site. It was very cohesive.

This site is very fresh and bright and friendly with a nice layout.

New Website Drafts

After making the stop-motion animation, I was inspired by the hand-made look and textures that paper created. I attempted to work that look into the website for FYF. After much frustration, I just wasn't feeling it. I felt that it wasn't universal enough and some markets wouldn't respond to it so I went back to the drawing board and came up with something much more streamlined and clean, but still incorporated a few hand-made aspects (ie. logotype and header image). I'm very pleased with the final result and I think it works well to tie everything together and still appeal to a larger market.
